Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, seen from the rear, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Samian mint. The emperor's armor and drapery are indicated with linear detail across the shoulder. The encircling legend in Greek characters runs along the periphery of the flan. The flan is broad but irregular, with moderate relief characteristic of Ionian provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD.
