| 背面描述 | The celebrated archaic cult statue of Apollo Clarios (kouros type) depicted standing to the right, rendered in the rigid Daedalic style with arms hanging stiffly at the sides and fists clenched, reflecting the famous xoanon preserved at the sanctuary of Apollo at Claros near Colophon. The reverse legend distributed around the field names the local strategos responsible for the coinage issue and identifies the city of the Colophonians. |

Colophon, one of the seven cities claiming to be Homer's birthplace, was a minor polis by the imperial period — its civic coinage under Trajan Decius reflects the brief administrative window of his reign, cut short at the Battle of Abrittus in 251 AD when he became the first reigning Roman emperor killed in battle against a foreign enemy. The strategos named in the obverse legend, Flavius Agathokles, served as the local magistrate responsible for authorizing this issue, his name preserved here as the sole record of his office.
