Sebastopolis was a minor Lydian city whose civic coinage under the Severan dynasty was modest in output and largely tied to the rhythms of the provincial conventus administered from Alabanda. The Conventus of Alabanda grouped together a collection of smaller inland communities whose individual issues rarely circulated far beyond local religious and commercial contexts — festival distributions and temple transactions account for most surviving examples.
