| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Severus Alexander facing right, rendered in low relief. The imperial effigy is depicted in the typical Severan style, with the head occupying the central field of the flan. The surrounding legend, though heavily worn and largely illegible due to significant surface corrosion and encrustation, would originally have carried the emperor's titulature in Greek characters. The flan is broad and slightly convex, characteristic of provincial bronze coinage struck at Smyrna. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is severely worn and heavily encrusted, rendering the central type and surrounding legend entirely illegible. Based on the catalogue reference (VI#4669) and the known typology of Smyrnaean provincial bronzes under Severus Alexander, the reverse would typically have featured a civic deity, mythological figure, or personification associated with Smyrna, accompanied by a Greek legend identifying the issuing city. The flat, featureless surface visible in the image is the result of extreme circulation wear and post-burial corrosion. |
