| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Severus Alexander facing right, rendered in low relief. The imperial effigy is depicted in the typical Severan style, with the head occupying the central field of the flan. The surrounding legend, though heavily worn and largely illegible due to significant surface corrosion and encrustation, would originally have carried the emperor's titulature in Greek characters. The flan is broad and slightly convex, characteristic of provincial bronze coinage struck at Smyrna. |
