| Obverse description | Homonoia type featuring two divine figures in confronted arrangement. At left, Heracles of Erythrae stands facing right, head turned to the right, raising a club overhead and grasping a spear, rendered in heroic civic guise. Opposite him, Demeter stands to the right with her head turned left, holding grain stalks and a long torch, emblematic of her role as goddess of the harvest. The two figures are positioned in a formal, symmetrical composition typical of homonoia coinage celebrating civic concord, with the legend ΕΠΙ ϹΤΡ Τ ΦΛ ΑΒΑϹΚΑΝΤΟΥ / ΟΜΟΝΟΙΑ / ΕΡΥΘΡ distributed in the field, naming the strategos Titus Flavius Abascantos and invoking Homonoia (concord) of the Erythraeans. |
