Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, rendered in three-quarter perspective as seen from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The portrait displays the characteristic youthful features associated with Caracalla's early coinage. A Greek imperial legend encircles the bust along the periphery of the flan. The die work is typical of the Sardian mint, with bold, slightly rough engraving style consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period.
