The god holds a tall thyrsus in his left hand and extends a cantharus in his right hand toward a panther positioned at his feet below. The composition is a standard Dionysiac type widely employed in the civic bronze coinage of Lydia, evoking the deity's special association with Nysa, the mythological site of his upbringing.
