Reverse description Dionysus standing facing, head turned to the left, clad in a long flowing chiton reaching to his feet. The god holds a tall thyrsus in his left hand and extends a cantharus in his right hand toward a panther positioned at his feet below. The composition is a standard Dionysiac type widely employed in the civic bronze coinage of Lydia, evoking the deity's special association with Nysa, the mythological site of his upbringing. The reverse legend, arranged around the type in the field, identifies the issuing civic magistracy.
