Reverse description A large stepped or tiered high altar dominates the reverse field, surmounted by an eagle standing facing with wings fully spread and head turned to the left, a motif closely associated with the imperial cult and Pontic religious iconography. To the left of the altar stands a tree, likely symbolic of the sacred grove tradition of Amasea. In the right field, a six-pointed star appears as an additional celestial symbol. The encircling Greek legend records the city's titles and the regnal year ϹΘ (year 209 of the Pontic era, corresponding to 206–207 CE).
