Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic Severan three-quarter back view. The emperor's laureate wreath is rendered with fine beaded detail atop a curly beard and hair. Drapery folds are visible over the left shoulder, with the cuirass pauldron visible at the right. The Greek imperial legend encircles the bust within a beaded border.
