| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, viewed from the rear, with the radiate crown prominently rendered and paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The emperor's bearded portrait is rendered in the typical mid-third-century provincial style, with strong facial features characteristic of Philippan coinage. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG, running clockwise around the periphery of the flan. |
