| Descrizione del dritto | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus I (Thrax) facing right, depicted from the rear, with paludamentum visible over the cuirass. The effigy is rendered in the vigorous, somewhat rough provincial style characteristic of Lydian civic coinage of the mid-3rd century AD. A Greek imperial legend encircles the bust within the field, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hammered provincial bronzes of this period. |
