| Obverse description | Youthful laureate bust of Commodus, draped in paludamentum and cuirass, facing right and seen from the rear. The legend encircles the bust in Greek characters identifying the young co-emperor. The portrait reflects the distinctive youthful iconography of Commodus as Caesar prior to his formal elevation to Augustus, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Cyzicene mint. |
