| Obverse description | Youthful diademed head of the eponymous hero Kyzikos facing right, rendered in high relief with finely engraved curling hair, the diadem clearly visible across the brow. The portrait occupies the central field within a beaded border, with the Greek legend ΚΥΖΙΚΟϹ disposed around the periphery. The modelling is characteristic of the accomplished die-cutting tradition of the Cyzicene mint during the Antonine period, conveying an idealized, heroic physiognomy. |
