Obverse description Bare youthful head of Commodus facing right, with traces of an aegis at the truncation, upon which a Medusa head is visible. The portrait is rendered in the idealized Antonine style typical of provincial bronze coinage. The surrounding legend identifies the prince as Caesar. The flan is irregular, consistent with provincial hammered production of the period.
