| 裏面の説明 | Zeus Syrgastes, the local syncretic deity of Tium, depicted standing to the left, holding a patera in his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his left. An eagle stands at his feet, a standard attribute associating the figure with the Olympian Zeus. The composition reflects the civic religious iconography characteristic of Bithynian provincial bronze coinage of the Severan-Gordian period. |

Tium was a minor Bithynian coastal city whose civic coinage under Gordian III represents one of the last gasps of autonomous Greek-style bronze production in the region before Roman administrative pressure gradually extinguished local mint activity across Bithynia. The city's issues are sparsely documented, and the reference corpus remains incomplete — VII.2 being among the few systematic attempts to catalog the type.
Die matches across surviving specimens suggest extremely limited production runs, which accounts for the relative difficulty in locating examples outside institutional collections.
