The effigy is set within a dotted border, with the Greek imperial titulature legend arranged around the periphery. The portraiture reflects the conventional provincial workshop style of mid-third-century Ionian civic coinage, with the youthful features characteristic of Gordian III's numismatic representation. The flan is irregular, typical of provincially struck bronze issues of this period. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Two standing figures face each other in a dexiosis scene: a heroic figure on the left and the personification of Boule (the civic council) on the right, their right hands clasped in a formal handshake. The hero holds a spear in his left hand, while Boule carries a sceptre in her left hand, symbolising civic authority and divine patronage of the city of Metropolis. Both figures are rendered in the upright, frontal style typical of Ionian provincial bronzes of the Severan and Gordian periods. The reverse legend, distributed around the field, names the local magistrate and the civic ethnic. |
