| Beschrijving keerzijde | Heracles reclines to the right upon the back of the Nemean lion, his muscular figure rendered in the distinctive provincial style characteristic of the Pergamene conventus. The hero holds his bow in one hand and his club in the other, resting at ease atop the vanquished beast. The reverse legend, distributed around the field and in the exergue, identifies the issuing magistrate and civic community. The overall composition reflects the strong Heraclean iconographic tradition associated with cities of the Mysian region. |
