| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, rendered three-quarter from the rear in the characteristic provincial style of the period. The imperial effigy displays layered drapery and segmented armour visible at the shoulder. A Greek imperial titulature legend surrounds the bust, partially legible on this heavily worn specimen. The flan is irregular, typical of Phrygian provincial bronze production under the Severan and Gordian dynasties. |
