Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic provincial three-quarter back view. The effigy shows the emperor in military attire, with paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, the laureate wreath clearly rendered despite surface wear. The encircling Greek legend occupies the outer field, reading retrograde from the upper left.
