| Reverse description | Tyche standing facing with head turned to the left, wearing a kalathos (basket crown) atop her head, a symbol of civic prosperity. In her left arm she cradles a large cornucopia from which the infant Plutos emerges, while her right hand extends forward offering a patera over a small lighted altar set at her feet. The composition reflects the city's pride in its neokorate status. The encircling Greek legend ΙΕΡΑΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ ΝΕΩΚΟΡΩΝ identifies the issuing civic authority and its honorific temple-warden title. |
