Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Domitian facing right, wearing an aegis on the shoulder. The portrait is rendered in the imperial style characteristic of the Flavian period, with bold facial features. A partial Greek legend curves around the periphery of the flan. The flan is irregular and shows typical characteristics of provincial bronze coinage.

Reverse description Demeter enthroned, seated left upon a high-backed chair or throne, holding two corn-ears and a poppy in her extended right hand. The goddess is depicted in a draped garment in the Hellenistic tradition. The composition is well-centered within the field, occupying the majority of the reverse design. The type reflects the agricultural significance of Crete and the traditional veneration of Demeter across the eastern Mediterranean provinces.
