He raises his right hand in a gesture of benediction or salutation, while his left hand grasps a long vertical sceptre. The figure is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition common to Bithynian provincial bronzes, with the modius (grain-basket crown) atop the deity's head. The reverse legend naming the city of Prusias ad Hypium is disposed around the field. |
