Reverse description Hermes seated to left upon a rocky outcrop, depicted nude, his right hand holding the caduceus upright while his left rests at his side. The god is rendered in a relaxed, contemplative pose characteristic of Hellenistic artistic tradition as adapted in provincial Roman coinage. The legend is distributed around the figure in the field, with a portion visible in the lower exergual area. The reverse fabric is coarse, consistent with civic bronze production at Hadrianopolis in Thrace.
