附加信息

Anchialus, a Black Sea coastal city in Thrace, issued bronze coinage under the authority of its Roman governor rather than as a purely civic emission — the legatus augusti named in the legend, Caecilius Servilianus, held administrative responsibility for the province during the later years of Commodus's reign. Provincial issues naming the sitting governor are useful for narrowing date ranges within reigns otherwise poorly served by documentary evidence.

The AMNG II corpus remains the foundational reference for this series, compiled by Pick in 1898 and still not fully superseded for Thracian provincials.
