Obverse description Bare-headed, diademed youthful bust of the eponymous hero Kyzikos facing right, with flowing hair rendered in fine wavy strands and a draped shoulder visible at the truncation. The portrait is executed in the idealised Hellenistic tradition appropriate to a divine or heroic figure, with delicate facial features distinguishing it from contemporary imperial portraiture. The partial Greek legend ΚΥΖΙΚΟϹ is disposed in the right field.
