| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, with curled hair and short beard, portrayed in the conventional provincial imperial style. The Greek legend ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ ΑΥΓΟΥϹΤΟϹ encircles the bust, running from left to right around the periphery of the flan. The portrait exhibits the characteristic strong features associated with Caracalla's later coinage, rendered with moderate relief typical of Bithynian civic bronzes. |
