Obverse description Radiate bust of Antoninus Pius wearing aegis, facing right, with short beard and laureate radiate crown. The emperor is depicted in a strong profile with the aegis draped over the left shoulder, a characteristic feature of Alexandrian imperial coinage. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is rendered in the vigorous style typical of Alexandrian provincial bronzes of the early Antonine period.
