Reverse description Artemis, the patron goddess of Ephesus, depicted in dynamic motion driving a biga drawn by two stags to the right. The goddess is shown holding a bow in her extended left hand while her right hand reaches back to draw an arrow from the quiver at her shoulder, a composition emphasizing her role as divine huntress. The figures are rendered with considerable vitality, the stags in full gallop. The Greek civic legend is divided across the field, proclaiming Ephesus as a thrice-neocorate city. A beaded border frames the entire reverse design.
