Obverse description Draped bust of Empress Salonina facing right, resting on a crescent, her hair elaborately waved and rendered in the characteristic mid-third-century Greco-Roman provincial style, adorned with a diadem. The imperial effigy is rendered in high relief with fine drapery folds visible at the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend reads ϹΑΛΩΝ ΧΡΥϹΟΓΟΝΗ ϹΕΒΑ, identifying the empress as Salonina Chrysogone Augusta. The field is bordered by a beaded dotted circle.
