| Obverse description | Veiled and draped bust of Demeter Horia (Asia) facing left, holding stalks of grain and a cornucopia. The bust is rendered in the local Smyrnaean civic style typical of provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD. The legend ϹΜΥΡ ΠΡΩΤΩΝ ΑϹΙΑϹ encircles the field, proclaiming Smyrna as the first city of Asia. The veil and attributes of Demeter underscore the city's association with fertility and divine patronage. |

| Reverse description | Zeus enthroned left, holding a small statuette of Nike in his extended right hand and resting his left arm upon a tall sceptre. The composition follows the canonical seated Zeus type widely employed in Ionian civic coinage of the Imperial period. The reverse legend ΕΠΙ Ϲ ΦΙΛΗΤΟΥ ΙΠ/ΠΙΚΟΥ, ϹΜΥ, distributed around the field, records the name and equestrian rank of the magistrate Philetos who oversaw the issue. The figure of Zeus is rendered in a stately, frontal-throne style consistent with mid-third century Smyrnaean provincial production. |
