| Description de l’avers | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian I facing right, depicted from the rear, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the cuirass visible beneath. The effigy is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Ionian mint of Priene, with bold relief modelling of the laurel wreath and military dress. The encircling Greek legend is distributed around the periphery of the flan. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD. |

The composition is typical of civic bronze coinage of Priene under the joint reign of Valerian and Gallienus, referencing the city's agricultural and religious traditions. The reverse legend, divided across the field, identifies the local magistrate responsible for the issue. |
