Reverse description The syncretic deity Sarapis-Zeus is depicted enthroned and seated to the left, his right arm extended forward above Cerberus, the three-headed guardian of the underworld, who sits at his feet. In his left hand he holds a long sceptre. The Greek legend ϹΑΡΑΠΙϹ ΖΕΥϹ is distributed across the field, identifying the deity. The composition reflects the Hellenistic religious syncretism prevalent in the cities of Roman Lydia during the imperial period.
