| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and drawn back in the characteristic Severan coiffure. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Ionian mint at Samos, with visible drapery folds at the truncation. The encircling Greek legend names the empress with her imperial title, partially legible around the bust in the field. |
