| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, portrayed from behind, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Conventus of Apamea. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show the characteristic roughness of a hammered provincial bronze. |
