The throne is depicted with stylised legs beneath the deity. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuing city of Nicaea. The overall composition follows well-established iconographic conventions for Zeus on provincial bronzes of the Severan and Philippan periods. |
