| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, portrayed from the rear, with the radiate crown projecting prominently above the head. The emperor's military dress, including paludamentum and armour, is rendered in typical mid-third-century provincial style. The Greek legend is distributed around the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. |
