| Obverse description | Laureate head of the emperor Nerva facing right, with draped bust truncation, rendered in the realistic portraiture style typical of Flavian-Nervan provincial coinage. The laurel wreath is clearly defined around the imperial effigy. A Greek circular legend surrounds the portrait, reading ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤΩΡ ΝΕΡΟΥΑϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΟϹ ΓΕΡΜΑΝΙΚΟϹ, disposed along the inner border of the coin's dotted rim. |

| Reverse description | The iconic xoanon-style cult statue of Artemis Ephesia depicted facing, standing erect in the characteristic rigid frontal pose, supported by lateral struts or pilasters on either side. The goddess is shown in the traditional polymastic form associated with the great sanctuary at Ephesus, her arms extended outward. The two-word Greek legend ΑΡΤΕΜΙϹ ΕΦΕϹΙΑ is disposed in the field flanking the statue, identifying the deity and her cult centre. |
