| Aanvullende informatie |
Corinth's colonial status as a Roman foundation — refounded by Julius Caesar in 44 BC on the site of the city Mummius had razed in 146 BC — gave it the right to strike bronze coinage with Latin legends, a distinction it maintained well into the imperial period. Provincial bronzes from Corinth under Marcus Aurelius are relatively scarce; his reign saw reduced colonial output as central authority over coinage tightened. The reference IV.1#4672 places this within the Corinth volume of the BCD collection corpus.
