| Beschrijving keerzijde | Zeus Lydios seated upon a throne to the left, his body partially draped, holding an eagle in his outstretched right hand and a long upright sceptre in his left. The enthroned deity is rendered in the standard Lydian civic iconographic tradition, with the eagle serving as his divine attribute. The ethnic legend ΑΠοΛΛΩΝΙΔΕΩΝ, identifying the issuing city of Apollonis, is distributed around the field within a beaded border. The composition is typical of bronze civic issues struck under the Roman imperial authority of Marcus Aurelius in the conventus of Pergamum. |
