Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage. The laureate wreath is clearly delineated, and the short beard typical of Macrinus's portraiture is visible on the lower face. The encircling Greek legend runs along the outer border of the coin field. A dotted inner border frames the bust.

Reverse description Tyche standing facing with head turned to left, holding a ship's rudder in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left hand, emblematic of fortune and civic prosperity. The figure is rendered in the conventional Hellenistic manner typical of Bithynian provincial bronzes. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuing city of Nicaea.
