| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, depicted in three-quarter frontal view, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The Imperial effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of the early third century AD. A partially preserved Greek legend surrounds the bust in the field, reading ]ΕΥΗ ΜΑΚΡΕΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his Severan nomenclature. The coin shows a heavy green and brown patina consistent with prolonged burial. |
