Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, depicted from the front, with the effigy rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage. The emperor wears a laurel wreath and military cuirass, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The surrounding Greek legend is disposed in a circular arrangement around the bust, enclosed within a dotted border. The die work reflects the competent but somewhat rustic engraving tradition of the Nicaean mint under the short-lived Severan successor.
