| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, displaying the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the segmented armour of the cuirass. The emperor's characteristic beard and curled hair are rendered in the Hellenistic portrait style favoured by Alexandrian die-cutters. A Greek imperial legend encircles the bust within a beaded border, partially visible around the periphery of the irregularly struck flan. |

The regnal date legend L ΙΔ (Year 14) appears in the field, identifying the issue to the fourteenth year of Hadrian's reign in the Egyptian calendar. |
