Reverse description Cybele, the mother goddess, enthroned and seated left upon a throne, holding a patera in her extended right hand while her left arm rests upon a tympanum. A lion, her sacred attribute, reclines at her feet. The design reflects the deep cultic significance of Cybele in the Phrygian city of Aezani, where her worship was central to local religious identity. The ethnic legend of the Aezanites is inscribed around the field.
