| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, a presentation characteristic of provincial coinage of the period. The imperial effigy displays finely engraved drapery over the cuirass, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The portrait exhibits the youthful features associated with Gordian III, consistent with the provincial die-cutting style of Heraclea Pontica. |
