| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field features a large agonistic prize crown of elaborate form, decorated with geometric interlace patterns and studded ornaments, flanked on either side by tall upright palm branches, emblems of victory in athletic and sacred games. The crown rests on a decorated base and is surmounted by a small finial, consistent with the prize vessels (hydriai) depicted on agonistic coinage of Phrygia. The surrounding Greek legend distributed across the field and periphery commemorates the local magistrate Alexandros in his roles as archon and agonothete, and records his second tenure as archiereus of Synnada. |
