| Reverse description | Nemesis, the goddess of divine retribution and justice, stands facing left in full figure, clad in a long chiton and himation. She holds a pair of scales in her outstretched right hand and a cubit rule (measuring rod) in her left, both attributes emblematic of her role as arbiter of fate and equity. At her feet lies a wheel, a further symbol of Nemesis and the turning of fortune. The reverse legend ΟΔΗϹϹΕΙΤΩΝ encircles the design, identifying the issuing city, with the denomination mark Ε placed to the right of the figure in the field. The composition is consistent with the established Nemesis type widely employed at Odessos during the Severan and Gordian periods. |
