| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of Furia Sabinia Tranquillina, empress consort of Gordian III, facing right, with elaborately coiffured hair arranged in multiple horizontal ridges and a large spiral corkscrew curl descending before the ear. The effigy is rendered in the provincial Syrian style, with a pearl diadem visible along the crown. The encircling Greek legend reads ΦΟΥΡ ϹΑΒΙΝΑ ΤΡΑΝΚ ϹΕΒ, distributed around the periphery of the flan. |
