| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, depicted from behind in the so-called 'rear view' convention typical of certain provincial issues. The radiate crown is clearly rendered, conveying imperial solar iconography. A Greek legend encircles the bust within the field, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The portrait exhibits the characteristic provincial style of the Conventus of Sardis, with boldly modelled features despite the coin's worn surfaces. |
